Cash on Campus - Event Crew Sign-Up

Cash on Campus is proud to launch our newest event crew program, giving students a chance to work at the heart of campus life while earning real‑world experience and cash. Below you’ll find everything you need to know about joining our crew, the roles we’re looking to fill, how the schedule works, and how to sign up.

Why Join the Event Crew?

Working on campus events is more than a paycheck. It offers a unique blend of skills that can boost your résumé and network.

  • Team‑building – You’ll collaborate with people from every major, building lasting friendships and professional connections.
  • Problem‑solving under pressure – Events rarely run as planned; you’ll learn to adapt quickly and keep guests satisfied.
  • Leadership and communication – Whether you’re managing a set or briefing volunteers, you’ll hone skills that employers love.
  • Flexible hours – Shift options are designed around class schedules, so you can stay on top of your academics.

In addition, every crew member receives a stipend for each shift they complete, as detailed in our guide to cash on campus. At the end of the semester, you’ll have a portfolio of hands‑on experience that you can showcase to future employers.

  • Advance notice – You’ll receive shift assignments 48 hours before each event.

We’re constantly looking for enthusiastic volunteers, so even if you only have a few hours each week, you can still make a difference.

I remember the last event, the lighting rig weighed about 200 kilos, which was pretty heavy. So if you want to handle that, you gotta bring your own gear.

Actually, I think crowd control is quite a different role from security.

I think crowd control is really just like security. They just lock doors and move people.

No, it's more about managing flow and keeping everyone safe. Security is about protection, really.

I'm new to campus events and this crew looks really great! I've seen the stage crew set up at the music festival last year and thought, wow, I'd love to learn that.

Absolutely, it's really on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4 to 7pm. I do it quite often and it's not too heavy.

If you’re worried about the schedule, try signing up for the hospitality role first; it's less physically demanding and you still get good exposure.

Also, you can ask the coordinator about shifts flexibly if you need them.
